The Parliamentary Library is one of the departments of the Office of the Chamber of Deputies. It serves Members of Parliament and Senators, bodies of the Chamber of Deputies and Senate, employees of the Office of the Chamber of Deputies and Senate and selected institutions and users.

The Parliamentary Library provides public library and information services. For external users it only provides loans for studying in the reading rooms.

Our collection

Since its inception the Library has collected nearly 180,000 volumes of legal publications, legislation, political science, modern history, philosophy, sociology, economics, culture, encyclopaedias and reference books. The core of the book collection consists of Czech parliamentary documents and laws from eighteen other foreign parliaments.

The Library also functions as a depository library of the United Nations and it holds in its collection selected publications from various international organizations (e.g. the Interparliamentary Union).

The Library issues an Information Bulletin from the Parliamentary Library, New Acquisitions of the Parliamentary Library (monthly), and Surveys of the Legislative Activities of the Czech Parliament , which is also issued in English.
